Nothing can describe Iceland better than a picture.
Well maybe 27 pictures and a poem.

Of Earth and Sky
South Coast, Iceland

To hug the Icelandic coast is as much to hug God
as I have ever done so before.
It is always sunrise or sunset here.
The shadows are long.

The land is an uprising of stone.
When frustrated with her place in this world
she broke the silence,
Stretched herself into contorted folds,
just to see
what the sky may look like.
They have spoken to each other ever since.
Mother earth.
Sister sky.

They remind each other,
that though they wake frozen,
the night is but the needed silence.
And soon,
brother sun,
shall remember his work.
